Agreement

The undersigned parent and the Yokosuka Junior Seahawks Swim Team (YJSST) agree as follows:

1) Dues:

a) In consideration of the participation of the swimmer(s) in YJSST's competitive swim program, the parent agrees to pay the dues for the swimmer's practice level that are set forth on the attached Dues Schedule. Registration and first month's payment to be made at the Team Expo on 8/17 or 8/24, or by appointment with the team Treasurer. Monthly payments to be made at the beginning of following months: Oct-May. 

2) Suspension:

a) If the monthly dues payment is not received in full by the last day of the month, a notice of delinquency will be mailed. If parent shall fail to pay any delinquent dues or assessment, including late fees, within 14 days from the date of written notice of delinquency, the swimmer shall be suspended from further participation in all YJSST activities, including, but not limited to practices and meets. b) If parent becomes delinquent in payment of dues or assessments because of financial hardship, he/she may apply to the Treasurer for a waiver of late fees and suspension. A waiver may be granted by YJSST if satisfactory arrangements are made for payment of the delinquent amounts.

3) Team Assignments:

The assignment of the swimmer(s) to a practice team shall be the decision of the coaching staff. An assignment may be modified during the swim year if the coaching staff believes a different practice team would be more appropriate for the swimmer.

4) Release of Liability:

Parent hereby releases YJSST, its contractors, officers, directors, volunteers and any facility used by YJSST from any liability arising out of any injury to the swimmer(s) which may occur while the swimmer(s) is/are participating in the YJSST swim program, including, but not limited to; practices, meets travel trips and other team activities, or while the swimmer(s) is/are using facilities owned, leased or used by YJSST.

5) Coach and Volunteer Vetting:

YJSST Board and Coaching staff are committed to providing a safe and positive environment where a child can develop lifelong skill sets, healthy habits, good sportsmanship, challenge themselves and encourage friendships. Coaches will have completed background checks and/or SafeSport. Parents are welcome on deck and/or within line of sight with their swimmer and our coaches at any YJSST practice or event taking place at our home pool. Please adhere to coaches' communication hours in lieu of on deck discussion. Please contact the Board President with any questions.

6) Drug, Alcohol & Tobacco Policies:

There is a zero (0) tolerance policy on Drug, Alcohol & Tobacco use.

7) Fundraising and Swim Meet Volunteering Requirements:

Revenue from fundraising and swim meets constitutes a significant part of the YJSST operating budget. In any fundraising project or swim meet designated, parent agrees that at least one adult family member shall participate as a volunteer.  A $50/swimmer penalty will be assessed if family volunteer commitment is not met at a home meet. The fee will need to be paid prior to the swimmer's next practice.

8) By laws and parent handbook

Parent and swimmer will read and abide by the current YJSST By laws and parent handbook.

Swimmer Code of Conduct

CODE of CONDUCT YJSST is a community of swimmers, coaches, and parents. Our goal is to foster a cooperative atmosphere, working together to make this the best team it can be. Please remember that it is a privilege, not a right, to be a member of YJSST. 

As a member of Yokosuka Junior Seahawks Swim Team, all swimmers understand they are part of a swimming organization that believes teamwork, integrity, respect and good sportsmanship are more important than winning. By signing this Code of Conduct, swimmers agree to follow the rules for behavior and sportsmanship while a member of the Yokosuka Junior Seahawks Swim Team: 

1. I promise to show respect and common courtesies at all times to the team members, coaches, competitors, officials, parents and for all facilities and other property used during practices, competitions and team activities. 

2. I promise to demonstrate good sportsmanship during all practices, competitions, and team activities. 

3. I will be an active participant in all team practices, competitions, fundraising events and other team activities. 

4. I will come to all team sponsored events in the appropriate attire. 

5. I will respect the coaches’ and officials’ instructions and will make every effort to be on time for workouts, competitions, and team events. 

6. I will refrain from foul language, violence, behavior deemed disracting, dishonest, discourteous, disrespectful, violent, or offensive to others. 

7. I will follow all rules and regulations set by YJSST, MWR & CFAY.

2024-25 Season Fee Schedule

Yokosuka Swim Team members are assigned to specific training groups. Fee break-down for each group is as follows:

Additional Swimmer Discount: Sibling Discount offered is $5/month. Highest level swimmer is full price. 

Pre-Payment Discount: 10% discount offered to swimmers who pay 9 months up front. Discount offer expires October 1, 2024. 

Late Payments: A $10 late fee is charged for dues not received by the 10th day of each payment period. If a parent fails to pay any delinquent dues or late fees, within 10 days from the date of emailed notice of delinquency, the swimmer shall be suspended from further participation in all YJSST activities, including, but not limited to practices and meets.

The one time registration fee and first month's payment can be made the first Tuesday and Wednesday of September (3rd and 4th). Monthly payments can be made the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the following months until the end of the season.

The team accepts American cash, checks or credit card payments (payable to "YJSST").

We may use August as a trial period for new coaches and swimmers. There is no registration or fee scheduled for August.
